One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.(Galatians 6:6-7 ESV)
A law of human behaviour is that you will get more of what you reward, or support. If those who teach the Bible are not supported, less people will teach the Bible. This is not the will of God!
If we expect to keep learning, we must support teachers. Otherwise, without support, there will be no teachers. Then who will be left to teach us? Basketball players? Movie stars?
If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ. Do you not know that those who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings? In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.(1 Corinthians 9:11-14 ESV)
God’s plan is for us to support those who teach His Word. This will insure an ample supply of people ready to continue teaching you, and others, the things of God. How valuable is that to you?
